TEA PARTY RALLY -  April 15, 2010,

Community America Ballpark
                         Legends, KCK, KS
Here are a few pictures and some of my comments.  Ed
I heard the main stream media reported that 3,000 people attended the TEA Party at the Community America stadium on April 15th. Tax deadline day. My guess is that there were that many standing under the box seat overhang. The picture below shows the main event kickoff which started at 6:pm. The TEA PARTY main event began with a prayer and a song by Cecil Washington and his wife. That's right, we started with a prayer. Cecil was the Kansas House Chaplain back in 1994. That must be an omen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by retired Army officer and the current Republican Party Chairman of Leavenworth County, John Bradford. You may have heard of him.  Other speakers included Darla Jaye, Chris Stigall, Kris Kobach, Angelo Mino, Greg Ward, Dale Chaffee, Steve Shute, Alex Poulter from Political Chips, AFP's Derek Sontag, Obama's Kansas cousin Dr. Milton Wolf and Apostle Claver.
I don't know how many this stadium holds but there were only a few seats on the ends that weren't filled and during this whole event there were throngs of people walking around behind the seating taking in all the campaign booths and information exhibits. It was packed.
During the forums they would have candidates answer questions from the moderator. Here we see Todd Tiahrt and a stand-in for Jerry Moran's campaign. I would like to suggest that these forums should allow candidates only to participate. My experience tells me you can judge a person by the company they keep.
Here is Senator Mary Cook talking with Willie Dove. Mary is the sponsor of the Kansas Health Care Freedom Amendment. The HCFA failed to get the 2/3's votes needed during the regular session. When legislators return it will come up for a vote again. Those who do not support this amendment do not support the freedom of Kansans to opt out of Obama's mandatory health care plan. Virtually all Kansas democrats and a few republicans, (RINO.s) Republican In Name Only, opposed this amendment.
There were tons of great home made posters. Folks, there are new chapters forming EVERYWHERE!!
Phyllis Setchell, the Brownback for Governor Campaign Coordinator was on the job.

Dennis Pyle, Republican Candidate for Congress, Second District, was on hand and his six lovely daughters were there to help. Kortney Pyle, Dennis' daughter sang God Bless America. Wonderful !
Here's something you won't see at a opposition rally, a pro-life exhibit. Here is the Life For All Ministries. Coming soon to a radio station near you.
Here are some familiar faces. Could that be Mary Briggs and Barbara Paulus working the crowd?
Elaine Brenneman (not pictured) was also helping David Powell who is campaigning to replace Sandy Praeger as Insurance Commissioner. Praeger was no where to be seen and it's a good thing. Praeger was an avid supporter of Obama Care, something that 54% of Americans, and 100% of TEA Party participants, avidly oppose. It's time for Praeger to look for another job.
Here is Tammy and company with a banner that proclaims that our Second Amendment Rights, as outlined in the Bill of Rights, is there to guarantee that our other rights are protected. There will be a Second Amendment Rally in Topeka at 1:pm. on April 19th. Representative Connie O'Brien will be there to give a short talk about gun control. For those of you who may not know, "Gun Control" is the ability to hit what you're aiming at.
I took this picture from the box seats area. Seated at left is Republican Representative Anthony Brown, not to be confused with liberal Democrat Representative Tony Brown. Anthony represents the Eudora area. They are fortunate to have ANTHONY!  In the yellow shirt is State Representative Owen Donohoe. We're glad to have Owen back. He recently returned to the legislature from having open heart surgery. Owen represents the Basehor area and parts of Wyandotte and Johnson Counties. Seated to Owen's right is Connie O'Brien who represents most of rural Leavenworth County, Tonganoxie, Linwood, and parts of Lansing. These are three really good people to have representing us, especially as legislators return for the veto override session. Hopefully our conservative representatives will have the votes needed to balance this budget without increasing taxes. Keep them in your prayers.
Among the many speakers was Dr. Milton Wolf. Dr. Wolf is Obama's Kansas cousin. Talk about a great speaker and motivator. Dr. Wolf began to pick apart all the flaws in the Obama Health Care Law. When he finished there wasn't much of the law left. Then he began to tell us what needed to happen. Repeal the health care law and replace it with free market solutions. Get the Washington bureaucrats out of the doctor's office. Tear down the interstate restrictions on purchasing health care insurance. People, Dr. Wolf was sensational. He is a great orator and he did it all without a tele-prompter.
Kris Kobach was another great speaker. Kris is a candidate for Secretary of State. Kris also is a constitutional lawyer and a college professor. Here we see Kris holding a ballot box from the late eighteen hundreds. It was used right here in Kansas. It has locks on it so no one can tamper with the ballots. When Kansans were voting to see if we would be a free state or slave state there occurred a documented case of voter fraud. People from Missouri came to Kansas and voted illegally in our election. We know this because there were just over 2,300 registered voters in Kansas at that time but when they counted the ballots there were over 6,000 votes cast. Folks, there are still people crossing our borders illegally and voting in our elections. Kris wants to eliminate voter fraud. Kris said the next big push by the Obama Administration will be for amnesty. With the vast majority of Americans wanting change, real change, that we can live with, Obama must pass an amnesty bill if he wants to broaden his base. Amnesty would do just that.
John Bradford once again took the field and invited all the veterans to come down on the field and be recognized. You can see them lining the infield. After paying tribute to our veterans they filed off the field in single file. All along the way these veterans were met by people thanking them for their service and shaking their hands. These veterans must have thought they were the favored candidates running for office. Everyone, and I mean everyone, wanted to shake their hands and say "Thank You For Your Service".
Darla Jaye, at the podium, pays tribute to the vets as the exit the field.
You never know who you will see at these events. I saw many of my friends. Here is Wendy and Todd Weissenbach.  Wendy and Todd are Precinct Committee members from Leavenworth.

Here is a young family that has claimed this election cycle as their own. There obviously from the Third Congressional District. Their message is one that has been reverberating across that district. "SWEEP MOORE OUT" These are some cute little cleaning ladies who are carrying the message. They have their brooms in hand. It's time to clear the thrashing floor of the chaff.
That's Bill Loechler, holding old glory high, and wife Jinnifer in the red shirt.  They stopped to talk with Representative Donohoe. That's Jinnifer's dad in the white shirt. Everyone had a great time at the TEA Party.
Apostle Claver was the last speaker. If you have never heard him speak you have missed something special. They saved the best for last. All of the day's speakers were great but to be last and hold this crowd when the evening is growing old is really something. If anyone was thinking of leaving they soon changed their minds. Dynamic and inspirational. What impressed me the most is his ability to quote scripture and the draw from that quote the lessons that can be and should be applied to our political discussions. Unlike the rallies held by tea party opponents this one was well attended and it started and ended in prayer.
